Mother Tongue is a biannual print magazine that interrogates (and celebrates) modern motherhood through inclusive stories about art, sex, pop culture, politics, food and a few things in between. It’s not about kids or how to parent them: it’s about the nuanced lives we are living—as mothers, and much more.

In Issue 8, Mother Tongue moves between memory and imagination—revisiting childhood, history, and the stories we inherit or resist. It considers the treatment of women in media and culture, the politics of intimacy in dark times, and the myths of adulthood. Contributors explore utopias, genetic engineering, justice, martinis, and Mediterranean swims. With words from Amanda Knox, Soraya Chemaly, and Nina St. Pierre, this issue is a bold meditation on freedom, narrative, and the quiet power of impromptu decisions. A feminist manifesto for our times—part fire, part nourishment.
